Lionel Ainsworth has finally parted ways with Huddersfield and signed for Shrewsbury for an undisclosed fee. The winger enjoyed two separate spells under Graham Turner during their time together at Hereford and new Bulls boss Simon Davey had made no secret of his desire to take him back to Edgar Street. But Turner has fought off competition from his former club and seen his own lengthy chase pay off as Ainsworth on Monday morning penned a two-year deal at the Greenhous Meadow. The delighted Shrews boss told Town`s official website: "We have been working on this for five weeks and it is good to have finally brought it to a positive conclusion. We were initially trying to get it as a loan move but have finally agreed a transfer. "I`ve worked with Lionel in two spells at Hereford and he did exceptionally well during that time. "He has a lot of pace and the ability to create opportunities for others and for himself."
