Shrewsbury and Aldershot maintained their unbeaten records in a fast open game that ended 1-1 and where both goals came from the club captains. Shrewsbury, on the back of three wins, almost took an early lead but Jamie Young pulled off a great save from Matt Harrold's header. They did open the scoring after 29 minutes, though, when Mark Wright's raking free kick was headed in by Ian Sharps. The Shots were on level terms within two minutes. Shrewsbury failed to clear a corner and Anthony Charles fired through a body of players to score from eight yards. Second-half chances were rare although Luke Guttridge and Steven Leslie both went close. Harrold was booked in the 76th minute for a tackle on Darren Jones and then collected a second yellow in injury time for a foul on the same player.
