Stuart Delaney is the new man, and joins from the Lancashire FA. He had previously worked with Peters at Preston.
Delaney, 29, holds a UEFA 'A' licence, which he achieved at the age of 23. His brief with Town is to develop fitness and the so-called SAQ of players. SAQ stands for speed, agility and quickness.
Peters told ShrewsWeb: "During my time at Preston I sent him on every course going and he studied coaching kids, his SAQ, fitness training and all sorts of different courses.
"He's a well qualified coach and he is going to join us in the role of fitness coach/SAQ coach also development coach."
The boss added: "Stuart will be collating all the information, logging it and revisiting it every time the lads are tested. It's something we can't do with just me and Mick, we need to be coaching the first team and reserve team players."
The boss also told ShrewsWeb he believed the structure of the club was now very competitive: "There will be lots more done at this club next season, things that have never been done here before, and I doubt a lot of clubs have done as much in-depth stuff as we intend to next year," he said.
