The former Halifax winger told the Shropshire Star that last season was an 'absolute disaster.'
Fitzpatrick says he wants to show boss Jimmy Quinn the sort of play which made him sign him in the first place. The winger was farmed out on loan to Conference strugglers Leigh and Forest Green last season and Quinn has already indicated that he doesn't figure in his plans.
Fitzpatrick said: 'I'll be the first to hold my hands up and say that Shrewsbury fans haven't seen the best of me'.
Fitzpatrick is the second player to pledge his future to the club when it looked likely they would leave, after Colin Cramb vowed to fight on for his place.
In bad news for the Cramb, he will miss the start of pre-season training, reports ShrewsWeb. The striker has damaged a knee ligament while strengthening his groin. Town physio Dean Spink said the strain will keep Cramb out for a couple of weeks.
