New Boys Ready For Action

Steve Guinan goes straight into the Shrewsbury squad for the home date with Torquay. It is believed Guinan will only start on the bench due to his lack of match practice this season. This means Kevin Ratcliffe is likely to start with Luke Rodgers and Ryan Lowe up-front.

There is also a place for Andy Thompson who trained with the squad on Thursday after his recovery from a knee injury he picked up during his loan spell with us. Thompson has joined until the end of the season.

Steve Jagielka remains on the sidelines with a knee injury, while Nigel Jemson is out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

Torquay meanwhile include new central defender David Woozley in their squad for the trip. Woozley, who has signed for the Gulls until the summer of 2004, played for Torquay during a three-month loan spell earlier this season.

United will also include goalkeeper Kenny Griffiths as cover because regular reserve keeper Ryan Northmore is ruled out with a knee injury.
