Shrewsbury have signed defender Daniel O`Donnell on a six-month contract which could well be extended in the new year. The 24-year-old ex-Liverpool trainee was released by Crewe at the end of last season and has spent the past week at the Greenhous Meadow, playing in the friendlies against Coventry and Tranmere. Manager Graham Turner told Shrews` official website: "He will sign a six-month contract and be with us until at least January. "I`ve known him since his Liverpool days and watched him in the reserves and he`s then had a couple of seasons at Crewe. "He`s fit, athletic, mobile, heads the ball well and will be a good addition to the squad. "I was quite surprised he was still on the market last week."
