Peters and Mick Wadsworth have turned the club around, from relegation strugglers to third in the current form table.
And this could see the former Exeter man rewarded. Other contenders for the award include Brian Horton of Macclesfield, who has guided the Moss Rose side to six wins on the bounce, and Southend's Steve Tilson.
Ironically, Southend are the only side to have beaten Town this month.
Peters said he was not bothered or expectant over the award. He told the Shropshire Star: "I don't think there is too much chance of us getting the award because Macclesfield have won every game they have played in February and Brian [Horton] has done a great job.
"But that does not bother me one bit. If you take any part of the season, any manager has a chance of winning an award like this because any team is always capable of stringing a few results together."
Peters' management has seen hime rise to joint 16th for the third quarter of the season in the League Managers' Association's Tissot Manager League, which uses a variety of stats to rank managers from all 4 divisions. Peters is above high profile names such as Martin Jol and Paul Jewell.
Amazingly, none of Town's heros from the 5-0 demolition if Chester managed to get in the Football League's League 2 team of the week. View here.
