Quinn defends tactic switch

Town went down to a 2-1 defeat against high-flying Yeovil after being one-nil up.

Quinn made a change on the 60 minute mark, with Town leading through Luke Rodgers' first half goal. Winger John McGrath was replaced with centre half Dave Walton.

The change meant Town switching to the 3-5-2 formation which had faltered in the early part of the season. Fifteen minutes later Shrewsbury were 2-1 down.

However, Jimmy Quinn refused to accept that this was the cause of the defeat. He told ShrewsWeb: 'The switch in formation had nothing to do with the goals we conceded today, it was down to players being left totally unmarked in the box.'

The Town boss remained upbeat for the coming games, the first of which sees them take on Bournmeouth in the LDV Trophy. He added: 'We've lost today and now it's about regrouping and get things right for the next game, and we will work to do that.'
