The Town boss confirmed that moves were in place and he was waiting to hear any news.
Quinn told ShrewsWeb: 'I'm having a look at maybe getting someone in one loan, I'm waiting for a club to get back to me'.
The gaffer is after a central midfielder, after his current playmakers were ruled out for various reasons. Ben Smith is out after dislocating his shoulder, while Welsh boys Jamie Tolley and Dave Edwards are linking up with their junior squads. Tolley is in line to face the England Under 21 side.
Boss Quinn harked back to the good old days, saying: 'It's a big honour for the club with Jamie and Dave being away with Wales but it's also a bit of a pain.
'When I played international football you very rarely had league fixtures when there was an international'.
Quinn added: 'I know it's a big game for Jamie as it's playing for your country against England.'
Town's other options include Martin O'Connor, who is not match fit, and Kevin Street, who deputised for Smith in the Wycombe match. Sam Aiston and Ryan Lowe are also options.
