Robinson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I'd never met him before this season, but we clicked immediately.
"Our styles complement each other. Matt's a big player, and we get on well off the pitch too which really helps."
Robinson added: "Eleven goals between us so far is a fantastic return."
The 23-year-old has scored seven goals this season, a major improvement on 2009/10 when he managed four in 17 appearances.
And that has led him to readjust his targets for the campaign.
"They're mini targets really," he said. "First I chase five, then ten.
"But to get seven by mid-September is really good.
"As for how many I can get - how cliched is this? It doesn't matter who scores if I can just contribute to the team winning."
