"Everything about the game was disappointing, though I don't think it's the worst performance we have had," said Simpson. "The goals were disappointing, the first one on the stroke of half time has just given then a huge lift. Kelvin (Langmead) is saying he won the ball first. I am not sure if we would have got that penalty.
"But I thought in the second half they deserved to win the game. We did not defend crosses particularly well, we did not threaten their goal enough.
"We had chances in the first half that we should have been more ruthless with and a good chance in the second half with Kev McIntyre, but on the whole it is a very disappointing day.
"There is no point dwelling on it. What we have to do now is make sure we know what has got us into the position we are in and what has made us into a decent side. And what better way to get back on the horse again next week with the league leaders coming to us."
