But his 19-year-old son, who won the young player of the season award, wants to secure a new contract with the club.
"I just hope I'm at Shrewsbury Town next season to continue the work," he told the club website.
"I've proved to some of the people who doubted me at the beginning that I am good enough to get into the first team squad. We're waiting to see what happens over the Summer," he added.
Shrewsbury are searching for a new manager after Paul Simpson's departure, with the board insisting they will not be rushed into finding a replacement.
