Striker hoping for Shrews recall

"I've been disappointed not playing the last few games, so to score was perfect," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"Hopefully I've done enough (for a recall), but if not I'll have to come on as a sub again and score two."

Harrold, whose previous clubs include Brentford, Yeovil and Southend, joined Shrewsbury in the summer from Wycombe, where he scored 22 goals in the previous two seasons and helped them to promotion to League One.

He added: "Being dropped was a massive surprise, but I've just had to knuckle down, not sulk and wait for my chance."

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner said: "Being left out of the side hurts, but the best way to answer that is to come on and score, like he's done.

"He's obviously upset about being left out, but the answer is to go and work hard and get back in there."
