Andy has damaged ligaments of the ankle, Andy will be out of action for between two to three weeks.
Kevin Ratcliffe has admitted that he will be signing Thompson on a long term contract when he has sorted out a settlement with Cardiff.
Asked about the end to Thompson's loan Kevin Ratcliffe said,
"Andy's trying to come to a settlement at Cardiff, and if he can sort that out we'll be happy to keep him for this season, and for the next.
"Andy's impressed me since he's joined us and he adds that little bit more experience to the side.
