The Gay Meadow has been home of Salop for 94 years, but the new deal will pave the way for the development of a new, modern stadium.
The site of the current ground will be redeveloped into luxury riverside housing, while the New Ground, costing around £13m will mark the end of seven years of foiled plans to move to a new home.
The new ground will hold 10,000 people, all seated and will be situated on the
town's southern boundary. Shrewsbury are clearly a side on the up after their triumph at Stoke was watched by around 12,000 fans.
Chairman Roland Wycherley said it was a 'very exciting' time for the club and the new plans were 'absolutely fantastic'.
The stadium will bring a double boost for the side after their promotion. If they can cement a place in the football league by the time the ground is complete, then the club can really moe forward.
