Wycombe maintained their place in the League Two automatic promotion places as goals from Matt Bloomsfield and Russell Martin gave them a 2-0 home win against Shrewsbury.
Both sides made a bright start to this game with Wycombe going close on 12 minutes when, following some great passing movements, Dean Bowditch found himself in space but sent a left-foot drive just over the bar.
Two minutes later a ball from the left by Tommy Mooney found Bloomsfield at the far post and he drove the ball into the far corner of the net to put the Chairboys into the lead.
Shrewsbury rallied and put the Wycombe goal under pressure, but the Chairboys always looked threatening on the break.
The second half opened with Wycombe taking the game to the visitors, who had keeper Joe Hart in action early on. The game became scrappy with the referee making too many stoppages for niggling incidents.
A half chance fell to Bloomfield on the edge of the area, but he only managed to spoon his shot wide.
On the hour Wycombe made a double substitution when Ian Stonebridge and Martin replacing Bowditch and Stefan Oakes, while Sagi Burton was the only name to go into the referee's book after a challenge on Rob Lee who was goal-bound on 69 minutes.
Colin McMenamin flitted through to the edge of the area but sent a shot just over the bar on 71 minutes moments before Stonebridge got away down the right to deliver the ball to the far post where Mooney knocked it down for Martin to fire home to extend the lead.
Charlie Griffin replaced Jermaine Easter after 78 minutes and had an impact every time Wycombe got forward. Stonebridge got forward and drove the ball just over the top of the bar in the dying moments.
